Hip misalignment

Many times hip misalignment is misinterpreted which leads to unnecessary treatment. In 95% of all cases treated because of this, the hip misalignment is the consequence of handedness.

The horse touches the ground faster with the handed front leg and hence the handed shoulder hangs lower. The horse shifts its centre of gravity onto the handed shoulder, the outer back leg can’t move forward sufficiently and the step shortens. Here only specific training, thus straightening and correction of the diagonal, can help on the long run.
Should it be a matter of a true hip misalignment it can be assumed that it is irreparable and not treatable. It is a matter of worn out acetabulum.
