Introductory Clinic
2-day clinic with Garbiele Rachen-Schöneich
Gabriele Rachen-Schöneich has been training horses at the ARR Center for Anatomically Correct Horsemanship for over 20 years. With a focus on training level 2, she especially supervises the transfer to the riding training for horse and human. Take the opportunity to book seat lessons on the lunge and riding lessons with Gabriele Rachen-Schöneich.
The good rider's seat and anatomically correct riding
Horizontal and vertical balance - how do I find equilibrium on the horse?
After straightness, rhythm, impulsion and suppleness have been established in the horse by means of functional lungeing training (level 1), riding becomes the focus in the second training level.
The feeling of merging with the horse and riding on a wave is the result of systematic preparation of the horse and conscious inputs of the rider’s body. In this clinic the supple basic seat is worked on. Decisive for a good seat is the rider's lateral postural musculature. Activating these muscles is achieved with specific seat exercises on the lunge line. The rider's postural aids have to be given based on a rein-independent seat. The positive influence of the horse's diagonals from within the rider's own body requires distinctive skills regarding the rider's coordination and basic knowledge of the biomechanics of the horse.
The riding lessons are individually aligned to the training level and needs of horse and rider, always focusing on a fine contact that originates from weight-carrying hindquarters and an upward swinging back.
Conditions of participation
This course is aimed at horses and riders who have already completed ARR training level 1. In addition to the practical part (individual lessons), a lecture with a focus on the rider's seat is part of the clinic.
